UsefulChem Mailing List

We now have a mailing list for UsefulChem.

Although we currently have a wiki and blog to keep track of the UsefulChem project, there is a lot of valuable information not being captured.

The wiki records details of experiments (effectively serving mainly as the group laboratory notebook) and the blog serves to highlight milestones and key problems.

But the day to day interaction between the collaborators is lost in the email system that currently serves as our workhorse for getting things done.

This mailing list should help capture that process and everyone who is comfortable discussing in the open is welcome to contribute.

Mailing lists....ah, yes....vaguely remember those from the days before rss, rdf, atom, wikis, wakis, waikikis etc.

Seriously, good call, always worth spreading one's eggs among several baskets, there are still many people out there who might have an invaluable contribution to make who would instantly sign up for an email "feed" but might be reluctant to add yet another rss to their aggregator. And, then there are those people who haven't yet been turned on to rss at all...let alone wakiwikis.

Yes most of the collaborations with people outside of the lab have been done over email - this is just a way of making much of it public. Lets use whatever works!
